The Dorothy Goldstein Memorial
Library Without Walls
The Library Without Walls, honoring the memory of philanthropist Dorothy Shepard Goldstein, provides books for children who may not have books of their own.
Book drives, which occur year-round, and book donations from individuals, community groups, and businesses now provide for a yearly average of 30,000 books distributed by this program.
The majority of the books are given away to children during the holidays. We work with other community and religious organizations that support families in need during the holidays with toys stores and other gift opportunities.
Throughout the year, books are also given to children through programs sponsored by numerous health and human services agencies in Middle Tennessee.
